Q. Are the dyes more or less colour fast than the dyes used when carpet is first manufactured?

A. When your carpet is dyed using Nice n Clean’s acid based dye, the colour is at least as colour fast as it was when the carpet was new. Therefore, if your carpet is ten years old before colour correction is necessary, then you can expect at least 10 years before it will be necessary again.

Q. Can I have any colour I like?

A. In a nutshell, yes. The only constraints are that a) we have to go a darker shade than the existing colour; and b) the final result will depend on the existing colour, so that a blue carpet with red dye applied will appear purple. Apart from that, the possibilities are almost endless!

Q. What about stains? Will they still be visible after dyeing?

A. Quite simply, no. All stains are cleaned and, if necessary, treated beforehand.

Q. Do you give free quotes?

A. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we are unable to visit for free quotes. However, if you would like to spend some time with us, for $55 (including GST) we can arrange an in-home consultation with one of our carpet dyeing experts who will spend approximately one hour with you discussing the job, helping you to select the right colour, giving an exact quote and testing the fibre. And the good news is that if you decide to go ahead, the $55 is deductible from the final price.

Q. How long does it take?

A. Of course this varies, depending on the size of the job, but in most cases, the job is complete within 3 – 4 hours (minus drying time)

Q. Can any carpet be dyed?

A. Actually, no. Our dyes will only work on nylon, wool or nylon/wool blended carpet. Fortunately, though, just about all domestic carpet falls into this category and we are able to test this before starting.
